New York is where Roadblock Radio started, and the schedule still reads like the city. Richie B opens the week from 6AM. The drive time mixes land when the Belt Parkway and the Grand Central are at their worst. Culture Time runs late, because that is when people who work the city listen.
The Caribbean New York this station plays for is Flatbush and Crown Heights, the Bronx along White Plains Road, Queens through Jamaica and Springfield Gardens. Labor Day on Eastern Parkway is the biggest week in the calendar and the soca shows spend two months building up to it.
You do not need a radio to hear it. The stream runs in a browser, in the free apps, on Alexa, on iHeart, TuneIn and Audacy, so a Brooklyn kitchen, a Bronx barbershop and a car on the Cross Bronx all get the same broadcast.
